Some people dread winter. The freezing weather that doesn’t allow you to move out of your home except by wearing many layers of clothes which essentially is so much work that you even prefer staying over.
Winter comes, and the city and its entertainment almost comes to a standstill. You can’t go to the parks, concerts, beaches as well as other activities that can be a ton of fun in the summer.
However, do not despair, because there are still countless things that you can do in the winter to entertain yourself.
1) Movies and TV Shows
Let’s start off with the most popular form of entertainment everyone knows. Nothing like thewinter to get to know some new series and discover some new worlds. Perhaps you are into comedy and could get a taste of Arrested Development and Friends. Maybe you’ll be more into Sherlock, Game of Thrones or Stranger Things. There’s something for everyone.
On the other hand, you could also watch some new movies from the plethora of movies that have been produced. No matter how many movies you have watched, there are plenty left for you to see. Depending on your likes and your kind of taste, you could watch similar movies. Or you could try your hand at some new genres and see if you like them or not.
2) Reading
Reading is another one of the activities that just becomes a couple times more fun when it’s done with time, especially during the winter. Nothing as soothing and relaxing as beinginsideyour blankets in the cold winter night with a book in your hands. Having your eyes set on the book while the cold winter breeze graces your cheeks.
You could get into a series such as Harry Potter, Misborn, Dune or something else depending on your interests. Alternatively, you could read some non-fiction books or do some sort of reading challenge. Nothing like having the winter over and having a lot of books read to discuss with your friends after the winter ends.
If you are interested in buying some new books, then there is a splendid offer going on at The Works in which they are offering 6 Fiction Books for £10. That is an offer that should not be skipped given that books are often pricey and what is better than finding a deal for them online.
3) Camping / Outdoors
Now, this is one of the activities which is certainly not for everyone. But, I’ll still mention it because it could be wonderful for the right kind of person. Who doesn’t want to roast marshmallows on campfire in the winter night while having a sky full of stars over their head?
Camping and Hiking are some of the best activities which you could go on during the winter and don’t need to face scorching heat of the summer. However, a word of caution is to make sure that you are wearing ample layers of clothing so that you stay okay. Also check the weather and temperature of the area beforehand and plan accordingly.
With these activities in mind, winter will not make you freeze, but will be just as enjoyable as the summer breeze.
