Apple’s iPhone X made room for the display-notch, and it isn’t surprising that budget brands have followed suit. Vivo launched the first budget device in V9 with the feature, and now it’s Oppo’s turn. Oppo has finally launched Oppo F7, promising it to be the ultimate ‘Selfie Expert’. The 25MP front shooter with Artificial Intelligence is certainly the highlight, but how well does it perform? Oppo F7 Price in India is around 22k, and we are reviewing the smartphone in this post.
Specifications at a glance!
Oppo F7 is a spectacular device as far as cameras and display is concerned. It gets a 6.23-inch touchscreen, which is slightly smaller than the 6.3-inch V9 but has similar resolution of 1080 pixels by 2280 pixels. At the core, it gets a 2 MHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor, which is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard memory, which is further expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. As mentioned, it has a 25MP shooter on the front with AI, and a 16MP shooter on the rear. In comparison, V9 does come with a dual camera setup (16MP+5MP). Oppo F7, thankfully, gets Android 8.1 out of the box and uses the custom OS of the brand. It is slim enough at 158 grams, which is again a tad heavier than V9 (150 grams). All the connectivity options are in place – Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 4G and 3G among others. Of course, you also get all the basic sensors, such as Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, and Gyroscope.
What’s good?
F7 has an incredible design and display with 19:9 Full View display, which is surely an inspiration from iPhoneX. The viewing angles of the display feel good outdoors, as well. In terms of hardware and performance, Oppo F7 is quite good, except that it can get a bit warm with video calling. The 3400mAh nonremovable battery offers credible charge for average use.
What could have been better?
Oppo F7 doesn’t have a Type-C port for the price tag, and yes, it can be prone to fingerprint marks and smudges.
Final word
Overall, this is a good device by all means for the price tag and will have to compete with Moto X4, as well. You might get discounts on F7, iPhone 7 32GB, and other high budget phones online, so do check for that. For great selfies and credible display, Oppo F7 is a winner.
